Green Moong kadi

This curry is made from split green moong dal. This is a variation of kadi made in Northern parts of India

Ingredients:
Green Moong dal (split) - 1 cup
tomato - 1/2 large
Red onion - 1/2
Potato - 1
ginger (grated) - 1 spoon
green chilly - 1
red chilli powder - 1 spoon
cumin, corriander powder - 1 1/2 spoon
turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon
salt - 1 3/4 spoon
Curd - 2 spoons
Besan - 1/2 spoon

For Seasoning:
curry leaves - 1 twig
corriander leaves - 2 twigs

For tempering:
oil - 2 spoon
cumin seeds - 1/2 spoon
cloves - 2
cardamom - 2
bay leaf - 1

Preparation:
Soak green moong dal for 6 hours
Put cleaned Moong dal and potato in pressure cooker.  Add 4 cups of water and 1 spoon of salt. Cook them for 4 whistles. After 10 mins, open the cooker, take out the potato and peel the skin. 
Smash the dal and keep it aside.
Temper all items in kadai. Add grated ginger and slightly toss
Add onions to it and shallow fry it.
Add tomatoes to it and fry until it turns smooth.
Add 1/4 spoon of salt and chilli powder.
Dry fry corriander, cumin seeds and powder those.
Add the spice powder to dal and cook for 2 mins
Add smashed dal, potato, 1/2 spoon of salt and 2 cups of water to mix and let it boil for 5 mins in sim.
Dissolve besan in curd, 1/4 cup of water and mix it with dal.
Add green chilli and let the dal boil for 2 more mins.
Season it with curry leaves and corriander leaves.

Yummy green moon dal kadi is ready !! :)

Usage: Serve it with Roti
